Mystery!

So lately in class, there has been a certain someone who messed up Mrs.Bumsteads desk! Lucky for us, they left some clues  by accident (or maybe not?). Now the whole class is in search of the student who is messing up the class. Everyone here is guilty, and no one is safe...

New project about heat

our class has lately been learning about how heat works and we've also been experimenting a lot with the topic of heat. We have to write down the results of our experiments and what we learned in a food type of manner. For the appetizer we were given a choice of doing 3 different experiments, and i choice option 2 where I had to place a bimetallic strip with the sides of brass and zinc on a hot plate and saw what effects it had. the brass side curled up into a spiral motion and the zinc side seemed to escape upwards but only in the middle section of the metal strip. I also had to check the temperatures of different amounts of cold and hot water mixed together into one cup. For Drinks I wrote a summary on an article about the earths different 'spheres', for the main course I did another experiment where i had to place a black jar and a white jar outside for 12 minutes and then check the temperatures. I then wrote down what I had learned from this experiment. And now i'm currently working on the dessert, which is basically just a way of presenting all the information you learned from doing all of these experiments. For my dessert i'm doing a slideshow.

Learning stuff

Hello, so I have lately presented my passion project. Just as you think, its a project where you talk about your passion to the class. The catch was that we had to explain it more scientifically and how this topic somewhat relates to science(even though everything is science). I don't really have a passion, since I have mixed feelings about everything I do. But my passion was how will anime be different in the future. A bit of science I had in my presentation was how many thoughts go through an average adults mind everyday. i'm pretty sure it added up to about 60,000 thoughts a day, i'm not positive though. Anyways, my thoughts on this project were quite mixed. It was a cool concept or people who really had a large passion and were very excited to work on it, but like I said earlier, I don't really have much of a passion. So in my opinion I didn't really like doing passion project, and I would rather want to work on something else;like constructing another birdhouse (even though it pretty much failed).

my poem

(Sorry this is super late!)

A poem I made about school :)))

        Taken away

I sleep in a warm area,
It envelopes me in happiness.
I hear footsteps, but I ignore them.
All is peaceful....Suddenly!
A hand shoots out and grabs my arm.
I shrieked, for the outside was cold.
Me and that arm tussled, a seemingly endless fight.
Where it's a game of tug-a-war between the dark and light.
The cold hand finally get's a good grip,
as it rips me out of my home.
I blink quickly, as the light blinds me.
And a cold, pale, face moves towards me as it coldly whispers:
"Time to get up for school"

Environmental Issues in School

I think its important to conserve what we have right now! not everything that we have will always be around,  we need to conserve our environment as much as possible. click the link below to see the slideshow our class made about this problem and ideas to stop hurting our earth :)

Passion project

What im doing for my passion project is how will anime be affected in the future? Im a big fan of it myself, so i was curious on how people will think of new ideas. Let me know in the comments if there is anything you want to ask or know about this topic in the comments below!

Ladybugs :D

I present to you:.....Ladybugs!

But, before I get started...Let me tell you something EXTREMELY important!
Our red ladybugs are actually becoming extinct! I mean, when you go outside and find a ladybug, they are usually red with black spots right? Well a new species named " Asian lady beetles" have been introduced not too long ago to north America. Instead of being red with black spots, they are orange with black spots. And more ladybugs means more competing for food and shelter. The Asian lady beetles have even started eating our native red ladybugs! Those cannibals!

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, Let me explain to you a little more about ladybugs! Ladybugs can be a variety of colour, like for example yellow, white, black, pink and the common red and invasive orange. They have been around for quite a long time, and have developed behavioural and physical adaptations. Such as have you ever notice whenever you start squeezing a ladybug (please do not try) it releases a foul smelling yellow liquid? well that's so if a predator was planning to eat that ladybug the nasty smell and taste of the it would discourage enemies. They also play dead occasionally so enemies aren't interested. A behavioural adaptations a ladybug has is that their bright colours are known by enemies to be poisonous, like the monarch for example also has bright colours to show it is not for eating.

Now, a ladybugs migration is pretty simple. They migrate if the area has either no food, the terrain is not suitable to live in (ex. flood, fire,). During the summer time they reside in north America and in the winter they migrate to America. Ladybugs travel in large clumps, and when resting they can sometimes cover entire areas!

Humans have also impacted ladybugs and how they live. Lots of plants and jungles have been tore down for space for homes and buildings, people also add pesticides to their plants so that aphids cant eat their plants. but no aphids equals no food for the ladybugs! But because of this, some special places are being reserved for certain bugs and animals. Another good impact is that like I have just made below, people are making special houses just so ladybugs or other bugs can create a nest in. It also helps ensure stray ladybugs wont crawl into your house as often!

Well, thanks for reading! This wasn't a very creative to post my birdhouse, but I don't mind that much (hopefully you wont either) :D
